Three documents, one campaign: plan a visit from evidence
A book preview, a Saint-Josse municipal publication and the Belgian embassy’s newsletter record the 100 Masters campaign in 2016. They explain how the selection was presented; they are not today’s ticket conditions or a complete record of every object.
The diagram in words: Dated campaign notice → Object record and source limits → Present display check.
Start with the campaign boundary
The book introduction describes a campaign from 18 May to 27 August 2016: one hundred selected masterpieces from forty-one Brussels museums. Those numbers describe that campaign. They do not count museums currently open, objects on display today or pages of the recovered book.
What the twenty-four-page preview can establish
The recovered preview contains introductory material and selected pages. It does not supply the complete book. Use its visible object titles and printed context as pointers, then obtain the relevant collection record. Do not invent the text or photographs of pages that are absent. A book’s entry number and a website’s old identifier are not automatically the same key.
What the other publications add
The summer 2016 Saint-Josse publication discusses the Charlier Museum’s Credo tapestry and campaign activities. The embassy newsletter describes the one-hundred-day museum initiative. They corroborate particular presentation and outreach contexts; they do not authenticate every catalogue object. Old ticket prices and event dates belong to those notices.
A complete source-to-visit card
Fictional card: question—how was the Credo tapestry presented? Source—municipal publication, summer 2016. Confirmed context—campaign notice. Object evidence needed—museum collection record. Present visit check—current museum access and display information. Keep the last field unresolved until the museum confirms it; do not copy the 2016 ticket offer into a current itinerary.
Finish with an observable question
Choose one detail to look for and one source claim to check against the object record. Preserve author, publication and printed page in your notes. If a source is only a preview, label your private evidence record accordingly. This method supports a visit without treating an old promotional claim as a present availability promise.
| Field | Example or check |
|---|---|
| Campaign period | 18 May–27 August 2016 |
| Recovered book | 24-page preview, not the complete book |
| Present visit | Verify with the museum |
